Warning: Rip-off, A word of caution to all customers who want to withdraw euros from a foreign currency account at this bank!! We withdrew euros from one of their ATMs yesterday and only realized afterward that the exchange rate was wildly different from the current rate. We then went to the bank teller window, hoping that the ATM had made a mistake and that it could be corrected there. Unfortunately, however, scamming seems to be this bank’s business model, because even at the teller window we were brusquely and unfriendly turned away with dubious explanations. First, they cited alleged fees; after we proved no fees applied, they suddenly claimed that was simply the bank’s current daily rate. When we showed them the current daily rate on their own website—which differed significantly from the rate at their own ATM—their only response was that there was nothing they could do about it; that’s just how it is.... This is how this bank was able to enrich itself by more than 50 euros through dishonest means. So, to everyone: you’re better off going to a more reputable bank than to VÙB Bank
